Back in Black is a studio album by Australian rock band AC/DC, released on July 25, 1980, by Atlantic Records. It is the band's seventh studio album, and their first without lead singer Bon Scott, who had died of alcohol poisoning on February 19, 1980. The album was recorded with new lead singer Brian Johnson, who was recruited just six weeks after Scott's death.
Back in Black was a critical and commercial success, reaching number one in over 10 countries and becoming the best-selling rock album of all time. It has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
