Map of the Soul: 7 is the fourth Korean-language studio album by South Korean boy band BTS. It was released on February 21, 2020, by Big Hit Entertainment. It is the follow-up to their 2019 extended play Map of the Soul: Persona, with five of its songs appearing on the album.
The album was described by BTS as "deeply personal," and explores their journey and growth of seven years since their debut. It is a reflection on their past, present, and future, and their search for self-acceptance.
Musically, the album is a diverse mix of pop, R&B, hip hop, and electronic dance music. It features a variety of different styles, from the upbeat and energetic lead single "ON" to the slow and emotional ballad "Black Swan."
