Description

"Leg End" is the debut studio album by the British band Henry Cow. The album was released in 1973. Henry Cow was known for his experimental and innovative approach to music, combining elements of rock, jazz, classical and avant-garde.
The band consisted of Fred Frith (guitar, violin), Tim Hodgkinson (clarinet, organ), John Greaves (bass, piano), Lindsay Cooper (bassoon, oboe), Chris Cutler (drums, percussion) and Dagmar Krause (vocals). They were part of the Canterbury Scene, a musical movement that emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was characterized by the use of complex compositions and improvisation.
"Leg End" is known for its complex and intricate compositions, combining free-form improvisation with a written score. The album contains instrumental compositions and songs with vocals by Dagmar Krause. Leg End's music is often described as complex and unconventional, with complex rhythms, dissonant harmonies and an avant-garde soundscape.
Henry Cow's music was a major influence on the progressive and experimental music scenes of the 1970s and beyond. They released several more albums before disbanding in the late 1970s, but their legacy continues to be recognized and celebrated by fans of progressive and experimental music.
