The Soft Parade is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Doors, released on July 18, 1969, by Elektra Records. It was the band's first album to feature horns and strings on many of the tracks, a departure from their previous blues-rock sound.
The album was produced by Paul A. Rothchild, who had also produced the band's first three albums. Rothchild encouraged the band to experiment with new sounds and arrangements, and he brought in arranger Paul Harris to add horns and strings to many of the tracks.
The notable tracks on the album include "Tell All the People", "Touch Me", "Wild Child", and "Wishful Sinful".
The Soft Parade was a commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart. However, it received mixed reviews from critics, some of whom felt that the band's new sound was too commercial.
The album has since been reappraised by critics, and it is now considered to be one of the Doors' best albums. It is a unique and eclectic album that showcases the band's versatility and experimental spirit.
