The Jesus Lizard - Liar - 9903
Tracks
Liar is the third studio album by American alternative rock band The Jesus Lizard, released in 1992 by Touch and Go Records. The album is considered to be among the band's best work. The artwork is "Allegory of Death" by painter Malcolm Bucknall, who also provided art for the album Down and the "Puss/Oh, the Guilt" split single with Nirvana.
The album opens with the blistering "Boilermaker," which sets the stage for the rest of the album's intense and abrasive noise rock sound. Other highlights include the sludge metal-infused "Gladiator," the stop-start "The Art of Self-Defense," and the psychedelic "Zachariah."
Liar is a powerful and uncompromising album that helped to solidify The Jesus Lizard's reputation as one of the most innovative and influential bands of their time.
