Description
Yello's ninth studio album, Pocket Universe, was released in 1997. It is a departure from the band's earlier work, with a more experimental and electronic sound. The album features a mix of uptempo tracks and ambient soundscapes.
Pocket Universe opens with the short instrumental track "Solar Driftwood", which sets the tone for the album with its atmospheric and ethereal sounds. This is followed by the more upbeat track "Celsius", which features Boris Blank's signature vocals and a driving techno beat. "More" is a slower, more atmospheric track with a haunting vocal melody.
The second half of the album features a number of standout tracks, including the hypnotic "Magnetic", the beautiful "To The Sea", and the driving techno track "Resistor".
Pocket Universe is a challenging album, but it is also a rewarding one. The album is also notable for its innovative production, which features a wide range of electronic sounds and textures.
